Watermark Hotel Okinawa Kume Island

The property was amazing, clean, updated, and spacious! Perfect for my family. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful from the moment I arrived to the moment we left. If I ever need to go to Kumejima again, I would definitely stay there!!

The laundry facilities were small and hard to get in there with all the visiting guests.

breakfast was great, location was great, but hotel was pretty weather worn. The pictures are a glow up from the reality.

They didn’t sweep or vacuum the floor when I arranged for a turn down while staying there for two weeks. I had to sweep/mop with the towels.

Great location, close to beach and many izakaya, convenience store 5 min walk.

Breakfast expensive, and restaurant not open for lunch or dinner, but I guess because not very busy. Also couldn't get a hot coffee onsite, surely a must.

Somewhat less amenities than in average hotels in Japan. Or I didn't notice? I don't know.

Kumejima is a very nice spot to experience amazing Japanese food and enjoy it all with beautiful beach and away from the hustle and bustle of the cities and even main okinawa island. The resort is just walking distance to restaurants and the beach, bus comes straight to the door and for those who have international drivers licence can hire a mini car or scooter for small trips around the island. The room was large, spacious, clean and comfortable with a lovely ocean view. Restaurant at the resort had areally nice food (sandwich was delicious and large) we shared ours and it was a perfect portion. Breakfast is a buffet breakfast with a variety of choices, the earlier you go the more choice you'll have.

Laundry dryer we did 4 hours of drying for 1 load of washing and it did not dry our clothes. Dryers are literally for max of 5 items at a time for 300yen per hour. I didn't see near by laundromats. But we just hung our clothes in the room and balcony. Parts of the hotel like table tennis area, tennis court are very outdated, hall way to the lift with lifts are also very hot and quite outdated, but rooms are renovated and pleasant to stay in. There's no drinking water taps meaning you need to purchase plastic bottled water. There is definitely a huge use of plastic in japan, which should be looked at. Beach near by had a lot of rubbish but we arrived after a typhoon, it was cleaned up very quickly. Then it was beautiful, bit of Coral so water shoes recommended. But can go without with some toe stabbing dance through the water.
